The Spark
catches fast, burns bright, feels everything
What is The Spark?
You are the most alive person in most rooms. Warm, spontaneous, immediate, you take things personally in both directions — a small kindness will genuinely make your week, and you say so, which is why people find you so easy to be around.
The cost: The height of the high is the depth of the low, and other people only get to see one of those. You have burned a friendship down over something that mattered enormously on Thursday and not at all by Sunday.
The Spark, as a person
You are the most alive person in most rooms and the most exhausting person in a few. A good day genuinely makes your week and you say so out loud, which is why people tell you things. You have ended a friendship over a text message and restored it a month later without either of you quite acknowledging what happened. You feel bad about that particular pattern and you have not yet found the thing that interrupts it.
Written as one person rather than as a category, which is the point and also the risk — see the note at the bottom of this page.
What the five letters in RUBMQ mean
Each letter is one of the Big Five traits, read in OCEAN order. Select any of them to read what that trait measures and how it is scored.
Rooted — low Openness
knows what works and sees no reason to leave it.
Unbound — low Conscientiousness
answers to the moment, not to the schedule.
Beacon — high Extraversion
radiates outward, visible from a long way off.
Mender — high Agreeableness
closes the gaps between people.
Quicksilver — high Neuroticism
feels it first and feels it fully.
What The Spark looks like at their best
The first hour of knowing someone. You are open, immediate and genuinely interested, and people tell you real things almost at once.
What The Spark looks like under pressure
A slight lands as a wound. You react at full volume to something that mattered enormously on Thursday and not at all by Sunday, and the reaction outlives the cause.
What helps: A rule about not sending it tonight, and a friend who enforces the rule.
How common is The Spark?
No population figures are published yet. Rarity is computed from a weekly aggregate release, and the first one appears once enough people have taken the assessment for a cell to clear the minimum publication size of 25.
Nothing on this page claims to describe how common the type is among people. When a release exists it will say which population it came from and how many were in it.
Which types are closest to The Spark?
These five differ by exactly one letter — so each stripe pattern below differs from yours in exactly one place. If any of your own letters came back in lowercase, one of these is genuinely as good a description of you as this page is.
What five letters can and cannot tell you
Less than the five scores underneath them, and far more memorably — that is the trade this page is making, deliberately.
A code compresses five continuous measurements into five letters, and throws away everything in between by design. Trait scores have no natural boundaries, so this names a neighbourhood rather than a species: two people sharing a code can differ a great deal, and somebody one letter away may be more like you than somebody who matches all five. Where your own score sits close to the middle we say so — that letter comes back lowercase rather than being decided by a coin flip you never see.
One more, published rather than buried: a personality description is the easiest thing in the world to believe about yourself. If this page felt uncanny, read two others at random and notice how much of those fit too.
