What should we call you?

Any name. Never verified, never used to identify you.

Age

Used to compare you against people of a similar age. Stored in bands.

Country

Personality norms differ between countries, and knowing the spread is one of the more interesting things in the dataset.

Sex assigned at birth

Asked separately from gender identity below. Optional, and only used for research.

Gender identity

How you describe yourself now. Asking these two questions separately is the standard way to measure this well — it does not require anyone to label themselves.

Which group should we compare you against?

The reference sample recorded only a binary variable, so this comparison is coarser than you are. We suggest one based on your answers, but it is your choice.

This is a research instrument, not a clinical assessment. It is not diagnostic and must not be used to make decisions about anyone, including yourself.

You must be 18 or older. No name, address or account is required — you are identified only by a random identifier. At the end you get a link to your results; it is the only way back to them, so keep it. We cannot look it up for you, and that is what keeps your answers safe.

You can stop at any point, and the answers you have already given are kept. That is not a trap: knowing where people stop is itself a real finding about the instrument, and a half-finished set is never scored or shown as though it were a result.
