Extraversion

How much you seek out and are energised by engagement with the outside world — people, activity, stimulation, and positive feeling.

Why it is measured

One of the five broad dimensions, and the one most visible to other people. It is also frequently misunderstood as simple sociability, when it is really about where your energy goes and what replenishes it.

What a high or low score looks like

High scorers are drawn outward: talkative, active, cheerful, comfortable taking up space. Low scorers are not necessarily shy or unfriendly — they are simply less pulled toward stimulation, and often find it costly rather than replenishing.
