VUHMQ
The Dreamer
lives somewhere slightly to the left of here
What is The Dreamer?
Imaginative, tender, and permanently a little elsewhere. You notice what other people walk past, feel things at a volume you rarely disclose, and have an inner world considerably richer than the life it is housed in.
The cost: The inner version is better than any real one, so real ones keep losing. You have declined a good thing because it was not the imagined thing, more than once, and you may not have noticed you were doing it.
The Dreamer, as a person
You live slightly to the left of where you are standing. You notice the thing nobody else noticed and feel it more than seems proportionate. Your inner life is considerably richer than the one on your calendar, and the imagined version of almost anything is better than the real one, which is why you have turned down good things for not being the right thing. You have probably done that at least once without realising that was what you were doing.
Written as one person rather than as a category, which is the point and also the risk — see the note at the bottom of this page.
What the five letters in VUHMQ mean
Each letter is one of the Big Five traits, read in OCEAN order. Select any of them to read what that trait measures and how it is scored.
Voyager — high Openness
goes looking for territory nobody has mapped.
Unbound — low Conscientiousness
answers to the moment, not to the schedule.
Harbor — low Extraversion
still water; the place people come to.
Mender — high Agreeableness
closes the gaps between people.
Quicksilver — high Neuroticism
feels it first and feels it fully.
What The Dreamer looks like at their best
Noticing what everyone else walked past. The observation, the connection, the thing that turns out to matter — you get there first and by a route nobody can reconstruct.
What The Dreamer looks like under pressure
The imagined version wins. You decline the good real thing because it is not the perfect unreal one, and you may not notice you are doing it.
What helps: To say the specific want out loud to a specific person, which is much harder than it sounds.
How common is The Dreamer?
No population figures are published yet. Rarity is computed from a weekly aggregate release, and the first one appears once enough people have taken the assessment for a cell to clear the minimum publication size of 25.
Nothing on this page claims to describe how common the type is among people. When a release exists it will say which population it came from and how many were in it.
Which types are closest to The Dreamer?
These five differ by exactly one letter — so each stripe pattern below differs from yours in exactly one place. If any of your own letters came back in lowercase, one of these is genuinely as good a description of you as this page is.
What five letters can and cannot tell you
Less than the five scores underneath them, and far more memorably — that is the trade this page is making, deliberately.
A code compresses five continuous measurements into five letters, and throws away everything in between by design. Trait scores have no natural boundaries, so this names a neighbourhood rather than a species: two people sharing a code can differ a great deal, and somebody one letter away may be more like you than somebody who matches all five. Where your own score sits close to the middle we say so — that letter comes back lowercase rather than being decided by a coin flip you never see.
One more, published rather than buried: a personality description is the easiest thing in the world to believe about yourself. If this page felt uncanny, read two others at random and notice how much of those fit too.
